SRM AP Pact To Boost Global Reach Of Research
SRM University-AP has signed a Springer Nature Open Access agreement to cover eligible authors’ publication charges and expand the global reach of research.
SRM University-AP, Amaravati, has entered into an Open Access agreement with Springer Nature under which the university will bear Article Processing Charges (APCs) for eligible authors, strengthening its global research outreach.
The university central library hosted an orientation session on the agreement, attended by 156 students, research scholars and faculty members. A Springer Nature delegation comprising account development and events manager Neeraj Karandikar, licensing manager Rajneesh Appayya and account manager Morla Kamakshaiah explained the agreement and publication process.
Appayya described the arrangement as a “Golden Open Access” agreement, enabling published research to be made immediately and freely accessible. He said open-access papers could receive significantly higher citations than paywalled articles.
The agreement covers several Springer Nature imprints, including BMC, Springer, Scientific Reports and Nature Partner Journals. Karandikar explained that peer review and editorial processes would remain unchanged, with the agreement applying after manuscript acceptance.
Researchers raised queries on eligible journals, disciplines and publication timelines.
