Srisailam Continues To Receive Heavy Inflows

KURNOOL: The Srisailam reservoir continues to receive substantial inflows, registering 1.81 lakh cusecs of water from upper catchment areas as of 7 p.m. on Wednesday. To regulate the floodwaters, dam authorities are discharging 1.69 lakh cusecs downstream towards Nagarjunasagar.

Three crest gates have been opened up to 10 feet to release excess water. The reservoir's live storage has reached 197 TMC feet, compared to its full capacity of 215 TMC feet.

The inflows include 28,658 cusecs from Jurala, 94,878 cusecs via the spillway, and 57,515 cusecs from Sunkesula. Additionally, 67,293 cusecs are being released for power generation—31,978 cusecs through the right powerhouse and 35,315 cusecs through the left powerhouse.
