Spouses, Relatives Enter Fray In Local Body Polls

Kakinada:Several spouses and relatives have entered the fray for ZPTC and MPTC seats in Kakinada district, making the local body elections a family affair.
Gollu Sarada is contesting the Rowthulapudi ZPTC seat on behalf of the YSRC, while her husband, Gollu Ramana Babu, is contesting the S. Pydipala MPTC seat.
Similarly, Pyla Ashok and his wife, Pyla Sowjanya, are contesting the Rowthulapudi-I and Rowthulapudi-II MPTC seats, respectively. Sowjanya’s co-sister, Pyla Lova Kalyani, is contesting the Rowthulapudi ZPTC seat.
Nandipalli Yarakayamma is contesting the Mulagapudi MPTC seat, while her brother, Tamarala Satyanarayana, is in the fray for the Raghavapatnam MPTC seat. Several candidates have previously served as sarpanches, MPTC members or held nominated posts.
Meanwhile, Jana Sena candidates did not file nominations for ZPTC seats in Sakhinetipalli, Mummidivaram, Katrenikona, K. Gangavaram, Ramachandrapuram, Atreyapuram and Ravulapalem.
TDP candidates also reportedly stayed away from the Malkipuram, Kothapeta and P. Gannavaram ZPTC contests in keeping with the alliance understanding.
