Sports Meets Promote Fitness, Team Spirit In Intelligence Wing: ADGP

VIJAYAWADA: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Mahesh Chandra Laddha has said that sports play a key role in promoting physical fitness, relieving stress and strengthening camaraderie among personnel, while helping build teamwork and boost morale.
Addressing the valedictory function of the Special Security Group (SSG) Annual Sports Meet-2026 at the SSG Grounds in Mangalagiri, Laddha recalled his early days in service, appreciated the enthusiasm displayed by participants and urged them to continue striving for greater achievements.
Inspector General of Police P.H.D. Ramakrishna attended the function as the guest of honour. The event was organised under the leadership of SSG director Jagadeesh Adahalli and SP Chennupati Bhadraiah in the presence of senior officers from the SSG, ISW, CI Cell, SIB and other Intelligence wings.
Laddha flagged off the traditional tug-of-war competition, in which the team led by RI Pothuraju emerged victorious. Cultural programmes, including singing, fancy dress and dance performances, were also held.
The annual sports meet featured 25 track, field and indoor events. A total of 132 prizes were presented to SSG personnel, officers, ministerial staff, Home Guards and outsourcing staff. S. Kamalendra Rao, PC/JSO-841, won the overall championship after securing six first-place finishes.
