VIJAYAWADA: Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan dispelled political speculations over his absence from a key meeting saying he is on a “Maagha Maasa Sanatana Dharma Deeksha.” As part of it, he is on a three-day tour of temples in southern states.
The Deputy CM arrived at Kochi Airport in Kerala on Wednesday. He proceeded first to the Agastya Maharshi Temple. As part of his deeksha, he plans to visit 11 temples across Kerala and Tamil Nadu, including the Anantha Padmanabhaswamy, Madhura Meenakshi, Swamimalai and Tiruthai Subramanyeswara Swamy temples.

Sri Agastya Maharshi Temple pundits welcomed the Deputy Chief Minister of AP with a Poornakumbha. He circumambulated paying homage to Sri Agastya Maharshi and participated in special pujas.
Responding to arrests of the accused in the Tirumala laddu adulteration case, Pawan Kalyan said, “Tirumala Balaji has crores of devotees across the country. They come to Tirumala with great faith for spiritual contemplation. My concern is that the sentiments of such devotees should not be hurt. It is truly unfortunate that Tirumala laddu had been adulterated. It is my strong wish that such incidents do not recur in the future.”
Regarding his present tour, the Deputy CM said, “Visiting temples of the southern states is a completely personal matter for me. It has nothing to do with politics. About four and a half years ago, I had vowed to visit temples. Hence I have come even though my health is not cooperating much.”
