Tirupati: The Municipal Corporation of Tirupati (MCT) will conduct a special drive on Friday to expedite the issuance of Transferable Development Rights (TDR) bonds to individuals who lost land due to the construction of master plan roads.

The drive will take place at the MCT office with town planning director Vidyulatha and additional director Srinivasulu overseeing the process. The drive will begin at 10 am. The officials will assist applicants in submitting online applications and addressing related concerns.

To decongest city roads, the MCT has developed a network of roads in the northern and southern areas. The civic body has identified 15 roads for development, with 12 roads spanning 8.2 km, constructed at a cost of Rs 30 crore. To facilitate land acquisition for these projects, the MCT has adopted the TDR approach, which compensates displaced landowners through bonds issued as per market value.

MCT Commissioner N. Maurya announced on Thursday that the special drive is being organised under the supervision of the Municipal Administration Department to ensure a swift resolution for affected landowners. She urged applicants seeking validation of their TDR bonds to bring necessary documents, including Aadhaar card, PAN card, and passport-sized photographs.
