TIRUPATI: Sarvepalli MLA and senior Telugu Desam (TD) leader Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy has alleged that former YSR Congress minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy has gone into hiding due to fear of impending legal action.

Addressing the media at Ramadasukandriga on Thursday, Somireddy announced a symbolic reward, which he dubbed the “Corona Palace,” for anyone who could provide information on Kakani’s current whereabouts.

“He once claimed he feared no cases or consequences, but today he is nowhere to be found,” Somireddy remarked, questioning Kakani’s sudden silence after being vocally critical of him in the past. He said the offer to trace Kakani was open even to YSRC workers.

Referring to an earlier case from 2016, the TD leader said Kakani had been accused of forging documents and remained untraceable for two months before securing conditional bail from the Supreme Court. “He had to report to the police daily for a period, yet he resumed political activities without hesitation once the YSRCP came to power,” Somireddy alleged.

He also criticised the conduct and language of YSRC leaders, including MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi. Drawing a contrast, he pointed to the swift disciplinary action taken against a TD worker, Kiran, who recently made inappropriate remarks about former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s family.
