 Nellore: India’s long-term economic strength will depend on strengthening domestic capabilities, fostering innovation-led growth and ensuring policy stability, Swadeshi Jagaran Manch (SJM) national convener R. Sundaram observed on Friday.

Speaking to industry leaders at the Sri City on “Indian Economy: The Way Forward in a Changing Global Scenario,” Sundaram, chartered accountant by profession, outlined major global economic shifts. Given the circumstances, he stressed on the need for self-reliance, resilient supply chains and stronger domestic value creation.

The SJM convener advised industry to play a proactive role in shaping India’s future growth trajectory, balancing global integration with national priorities. He described the evolving US-India trade relationship as a calibrated partnership that balances market access, domestic protection and long-term strategic interests.

Sundaram emphasised prioritising advanced manufacturing, digital technologies, renewable energy, healthcare innovation, agri-tech and robust infrastructure to ensure competitiveness and sustained growth.

Speaking on the occasion, Sri City managing director Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy underscored the importance of continuous engagement with domain experts to enable industry to stay aligned with the evolving policy and economic landscapes. He appreciated Swadeshi Jagaran Manch for its efforts in promoting domestic manufacturing and reducing import dependence.
