Vijayawada:The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the custodial death of Gade Sai Krishna is searching for two head constables and a friend of suspended circle inspector S.S.V.V. Nagaraju, suspecting their involvement in the disappearance of the victim's body.

The SIT, headed by Inspector General of Police M. Ravi Prakash, identified the suspected role of head constables Ashok and Jangam Nani, along with Nagaraju's friend Suresh, after examining call detail records (CDRs) and CCTV footage. The three are reportedly absconding.

Investigators said Jangam Nani had allegedly been involved in settling private disputes in the name of Nagaraju. He was earlier suspended while serving at Gannavaram Police Station and later posted to the vacant reserve following allegations of irregularities during his tenure at Patamata Police Station. He was recently posted to Krishnalanka Police Station.

The SIT also visited Ashok's residence but found that he was not there.

According to the investigation, CDRs and CCTV footage showed that Suresh, Ashok and Jangam Nani visited the residence of Sai Krishna's family at Vaddeswaram on May 29. The SIT has seized the relevant CCTV footage.

Meanwhile, the SIT is questioning police personnel attached to Krishnalanka Police Station and recording their statements on the alleged custodial torture, Sai Krishna's death and the disappearance of his body. It has also questioned members of the Task Force team that brought Sai Krishna from Markapuram and handed him over to the suspended Circle Inspector.
