Shipping Secretary Reviews Vizag Port's Performance

Visakhapatnam: Secretary of ministry of ports, shipping & waterways, Vijaya Kumar, visited Visakhapatnam Port Authority to conduct a comprehensive review of the port's operations and strategic initiatives.
During the review meeting, the secretary examined multiple facets of port operations, including the performance of public-private partnership berths, cargo handling efficiency, financial metrics, and connectivity infrastructure.
The discussion also covered PM Gati Shakti infrastructure projects, berth modernisation and mechanisation initiatives, flyover development, fishing harbor upgrades, and the port's green initiatives.
The secretary made a special visit to Visakha Container Terminal Private Limited, where he inspected the container scanning facility. He stressed the importance of systematic planning across all organisational levels to enhance cargo output.
