Seven PG Seats Added to Kadapa RIMS College
A professor from the Paediatrics department said the addition of PG seats would help reduce the workload on senior residents and improve patient care.
Kadapa: Kadapa RIMS college has been allotted seven additional postgraduate seats, taking the total number of PG seats across various departments in the institution to around 80, officials said.
The newly sanctioned seats include four in MD Paediatrics and three in MD Dermatology.
Officials said the increase would strengthen specialty services and expand academic opportunities for postgraduate students.
Meanwhile, proposals have been submitted to enhance postgraduate seats in three departments at Kurnool Medical College. Officials said the required documents had been forwarded to the National Medical Commission and expressed hope of securing approvals this year.
A professor from the Paediatrics department said the addition of PG seats would help reduce the workload on senior residents and improve patient care.
“With more PG students in Paediatrics, the burden on existing staff will reduce and patient care will improve,” he said.
He added that the increase in seats would help meet the growing demand for specialised treatment. “More students mean better handling of cases and improved access to quality healthcare for patients,” he said.
Authorities expressed confidence that the expansion of postgraduate seats in medical colleges across the region would strengthen both medical education and healthcare delivery.
