SEIL Energy Sets Foundation Stone For Sports Academy For Differently-Abled People

Nellore: SEIL Energy India Limited on Tuesday laid the foundation stone for an Inclusive Sports Academy (ISA) for differently-abled people at the Composite Regional Centre (CRC) in Nellore with a CSR contribution of `4.5 crore.
SEIL Energy chairman Tareq Mohamed Sultan Al Mugheiry and director Cyrus Erach Cooper performed the bhoomi pooja in the presence of CEO Janmejaya Mahapatra, National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (NIEPID) director Dr (Major) B.V. Ram Kumar and CRC director S.P. Manoj Kumar.
The academy, to be built at the CRC, a branch of NIEPID under the Union ministry of social justice and empowerment aims to promote sports and empowerment for persons with disabilities.
Speaking on the occasion, SEIL Energy CEO Janmejaya Mahapatra said the initiative reflected the company’s commitment to inclusive development and creating opportunities for differently-abled people to excel in sports with dignity and confidence.
The proposed all-weather indoor stadium, spread across nearly 15,000 sq. ft., will host multiple disciplines, including badminton, table tennis, basketball, volleyball, wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball, powerlifting, bocce and floor hockey.
The facility will also have seating capacity for around 300 spectators, separate changing rooms and toilets, and power backup facilities.
