SCR Launches Swachhata Abhiyan At Vijayawada Railway Station

VIJAYAWADA: The Vijayawada Division of South Central Railway (SCR) marked commencement of its Swachhata Abhiyan at the Vijayawada Railway Station on Friday, with an energetic and inclusive launch event aimed at fostering a culture of cleanliness and environmental awareness. Vijayawada divisional railway manager (DRM) Mohit Sonakiya launched the cleanliness campaign by administering the Swachhata Pledge to railway officials, staff, Bharat Scouts & Guides and sanitation workers. “Cleanliness is not a one-time initiative, but a continuous commitment.
At Vijayawada division, we are determined to integrate Swachhata into every aspect of our railway operations and make it a way of life,” Mohit Sonakiya underlined. In a bid to raise public consciousness, the Vijayawada division organised a Prabhat Pheri with participants marching across the station and the surrounding area, waving banners and chanting slogans promoting sanitation and ecological awareness.
The Bharat Scouts and Guides volunteers presented a lively Nukkad Natak, emphasising personal hygiene, public sanitation, and collective responsibility in keeping communal spaces clean.
Multiple railway departments participated in the Swachhata Abhiyan launch, reflecting Vijayawada division’s unified front in advancing the Swachh Bharat Mission.
