Vijayawada: The Supreme Court will hear a plea concerning local body elections in Andhra Pradesh on Friday, October 9.
The plea was mentioned for urgent listing before a three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Surya Kant and comprising Justice Joymalya Bagchi and Justice V. Mohana in New Delhi on Monday.
Counsel also referred to the census exercise under way and said there was a freeze while some wards had undergone delimitation. Justice Joymalya Bagchi observed that the boundaries of wards were not frozen.
Chief Justice Surya Kant directed that the matter be listed for hearing on Friday.
