Russian Delegation Explores Collaboration Opportunities At Vizag Port

Visakhapatnam: A 14-member delegation from Russia, representing government bodies, academic institutions, and private industry, visited the Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) on Wednesday. Port officials extended a warm welcome to the visiting team.
The delegation’s visit aimed to explore avenues for collaboration in education, skill development, and industrial partnerships, with particular interest in enabling the migration of skilled Indian professionals to Russia.
During the briefing, VPA officials showcased the port’s advanced infrastructure and operational capabilities. Highlights included its cargo-handling efficiency, ongoing modernisation and mechanisation efforts, covered storage facilities, solar energy usage, and Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) for industrial water management. Officials also outlined the port’s investment potential and its strategic role in boosting import-export trade through Visakhapatnam.
