Rudraphani’s Nomination Rejected Over Voter Eligibility
Rudraphani is currently in the race for the Zilla Parishad chairman’s post: Reports
KURNOOL: The nomination of Rudraphani, son of former minister K.E. Prabhakar, who is contesting for the Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) seat from Krishnagiri mandal in Pathikonda constituency, has been rejected.
Rudraphani is currently in the race for the Zilla Parishad chairman’s post. The rejection of his nomination has triggered discussion in Kurnool district.
Zilla Parishad CEO R. Sudhakar Reddy confirmed the rejection, stating that Rudraphani did not have a vote in the rural area concerned. A vote in an urban area would not make him eligible to contest from the rural constituency, he said.
Rudraphani is reportedly planning to appeal against the rejection to Kurnool district collector on Sunday.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, collector Dr A. Siri said the appeal would be examined in accordance with the rules.
