Kakinada: More than 160 buses from RTC depots in Kakinada and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema districts will be deployed for the inaugural function of the Bhogapuram International Airport, which will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The government is mobilising people, particularly from tribal areas, to attend the public meeting.

Kakinada district transport manager U.M. Manohar said RTC buses would be diverted for Bhogapuram Airport services from July 29 to August 1. As a result, bus services on some routes are likely to be reduced. He appealed to commuters to make alternative travel arrangements during the four-day period.

Konaseema district transport manager G. Satyanarayana said around 80 buses from the district would be deployed for the airport event. Consequently, bus services on routes connecting Vijayawada, Kakinada, Rajamahendravaram and other destinations may be curtailed.
