RGV Appears Before Ongole Police
His questioning that started around 11 a.m. on Tuesday morning continued till late in the night.
NELLORE: Noted filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma (RGV) appeared before the Ongole Taluka police station on Tuesday in a case related to alleged morphed photographs of political leaders.
The questioning started around 11 a.m. and had been continuing till late in the night,
Ongole Rural circle inspector Srikanth had issued a notice to RGV to make himself available for questioning at 11 a.m. on Tuesday.
The case had been filed at Maddipadu police station on November 10 last year, alleging that Varma morphed images of TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu, Jana Sena president K. Pawan Kalyan and TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh as part of promoting his film Vyooham, thereby defaming them.
Varma had earlier appeared before Ongole police on February 7 this year in connection with the case.
Sources said the filmmaker will be questioned about the previous YSRCP government a make him a ₹2 crore payment through AP Fibernet, apart from being grilled about the morphed images.
Police have reportedly seized Varma’s cellphone for examination to collect evidence related to morphing of images.
Significantly, police did not allow RGV’s advocate to accompany the latter. The advocate had been present the last time during the questioning.
