Repalle Cops Rescue Kidnapped Boy Within Hours
On Friday evening, one Mummalaneni Charan, who had been harassing Srilakshmi pressursing her to stay with him, kidnapped her son while Bhanu was returning home from school in an auto-rickshaw.
VIJAYAWADA: The Repalle police in Bapatla district successfully resolved the kidnapping case of a four-year-old boy and reunited him with his mother within 17 hours. DSP Srinivasa Rao said that Uppala Srilakshmi, 28, a resident of Repalle town, had been married to Prasad six years ago. They have a four-year-old son named Bhanu Siddhartha. Due to personal differences, Sriklakshmi has been separately from her husband for some time, along with their son. The boy was studying LKG at a private school in Repalle.

Based on a complaint of kidnap by Srilakshmi, inspector Mallikarjuna Rao registered a case and alerted Bapatla DSP Tushar Dudi who, in a quick response, formed four special teams to trace the boy.
With the help of Bapatla district IT core team and CCTV footage of the kidnapped area, SI Naib Rasool identified the accused fleeing towards Vijayawada. Then, police arrested the suspect at the Vijayawada RTC bus stand and safely rescued the boy who was handed over to his mother.
The DSP appreciated the special teams for their rapid response in solving the kidnapping case within hours and rescuing the child.
