Remove Tap Connections of Households Who Don’t Pay Arrears Within 48 Hours: GMC Commissioner

Vijayawada:Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC) commissioner Puli Srinivasulu directed revenue department officials to disconnect water connections of residents who do not clear water meter arrears within 48 hours.

During a meeting with GMC officials on Saturday, Srinivasulu expressed dissatisfaction with the low tax collection and urged the development of a special action plan to meet collection targets.

He warned that officials failing to meet targets would face consequences. Srinivasulu emphasised the importance of improving water cess collection and instructed officials to disconnect tap and drainage connections for those with the highest arrears.
