Religious Harmony: Muslims Serve Food to Ayyappa Devotees

Nellore: In a heart-warming gesture of communal harmony, members of the Muslim community in Varadayyapalem mandal of Tirupati district organised a special ‘bhiksha’ (meal) for devotees observing Ayyappa Deeksha at Kadur village on Saturday.

The initiative, led by Muslim minority leader Sheikh Abdul, stood as a powerful reminder that unity and humanity transcend religious boundaries. The organisers said the programme reflected the shared cultural fabric of India, where mutual respect and brotherhood remain the cornerstone of society.

The Ayyappa devotees, who participated in the event, expressed deep appreciation for the warmth and hospitality extended to them. Many described the gesture as inspiring and symbolic of India’s long-standing tradition of religious coexistence and mutual understanding.

The Annadanam programme drew an enthusiastic response from devotees, who praised the Muslim community for setting an example of social harmony. In turn, the organisers thanked the devotees for accepting their invitation and participating in the programme with open hearts.

Several minority leaders, including Firoz Khan, Sallauddin, Mubarak, Shaheed, Farooq, Barkat, Latif Maulana, Auto Mastan, Minhaj and Ramesh, were present at the event, sending out a strong message of unity in diversity.
