VIJAYAWADA: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Saturday underlined that the PR department of Indian Railways (IR) builds a bridge of trust between the government and people.
Addressing the first All India Railway Public Relations Seminar organised by officials and staff of the IR Public Relations department at the Menal Railway Officers Club in Kota of Rajasthan as chief guest, Om Birla assured his full support in addressing the various cadre issues in the PR department with the appropriate authorities, including the Railways minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. Kota divisional railway manager Anil Kalra welcomed the Lok Sabha speaker and other guests.
The PR department showcased a video familiarising the audience with the department’s responsibilities. During the seminar, senior public relations officers, PROs and publicity inspectors from across the country shared their insights, experiences and practical suggestions regarding cadre-related concerns. The interactive session provided solutions in defining the department’s future path and enhancing its efficiency, apart from laying a strong foundation for cadre restructuring.
