Rahul Sipligunj Case: Complainant Yet To Meet Cops

 Visakhapatnam: The high profile case involving popular singer Rahul Sipligunj took a twist with police claiming that the complainant is not turning up at the police station for further investigation.

Mahila Police ACP B.R. Ambedkar, who is investigating the case, said on Friday that he has personally called the complainant several times but she has not turned up. “We want her to produce evidence to substantiate her complaint so that the case could be investigated. If she does not turn up, we will have to proceed as per law,” the ACP maintained.

Ambedkar explained that the woman had initially lodged a complaint at the MVP Police Station on June 11 this year. In the complaint, she alleged that she met one Rahul Reddy through the Bumble dating app in 2025 and developed a relationship with him.

He allegedly promised to marry her but backed out. The complainant has alleged that after she approached police, Rahul Reddy, along with some of his associates, threatened her. She named 11 other persons, including the well-known singer Rahul Sipligunj, an Oscar award winner.

Based on the complaint, the MVP police registered a case under several sections of BNS and IT. They transferred the case to the Women's Police Station for further investigation. ACP Ambedkar maintained that the role of all persons named in the case is under investigation.
