Prakasam: Driver Charred to Death in Road Accident
According to the police, a Bolero vehicle transporting a load of cashew nuts from Tuni to Anantapur rammed into an unidentified vehicle that was moving ahead of it near Rangareddypalle. Following the collision, the Bolero caught fire.

Nellore: An SUV driver was burnt alive in a road accident after another vehicle rammed into the SuV from behind, triggering a fire on the Nandyal–Amaravati highway near Rangareddypalle in Prakasam district in the early hours of Wednesday.
According to the police, the accident occurred around 5.45 a.m. under the limits of Racherla police station when an SUV transporting a load of cashew nuts from Tuni to Anantapur hit an unidentified vehicle moving ahead of it near Rangareddypalle. Following the impact, the SUV caught fire.
Racherla sub-inspector P. Koteswar Rao said the driver, Erra Swamy (44), was trapped inside the vehicle and was burnt alive. The owner of the vehicle, Kandipalli Jayarami Reddy, sustained minor injuries. Local residents managed to pull Reddy out of the SUV but were unable to rescue Swamy, whose body was pinned between the steering wheel and the seat.
Reddy was shifted to the Government Hospital at Giddalur in a 108 ambulance, where he is undergoing treatment.
Fire department personnel rushed to the spot and doused the flames. The Racherla police, led by SI Koteswar Rao, cleared traffic at the site and took steps to prevent further disruption. A case has been registered and an investigation into the cause of the accident is under way.
