Nellore: Prakasam district showcased its industrial potential at the Elite Business Meet held in Ongole on Monday, with officials highlighting major investment opportunities across key sectors.
District collector P. Rajababu described Prakasam as a “fortress of opportunities” and cited strong economic indicators, including a per capita income of ₹2.17 lakh, a gross district product of ₹73,331 crore and a growth rate of 15.3 per cent.
He highlighted growth drivers such as the upcoming Ramayapatnam Port, BPCL and Indosol projects, the proposed Jindal venture and a 25,000-acre Mega Industrial Park at Donakonda. Improved highway connectivity and the district’s 20-km coastline were also presented as advantages.
Andhra Pradesh Maritime Board chairman Damacharla Satyanarayana said Ramayapatnam Port and the Veligonda Project would transform the regional economy and create opportunities in petrochemicals, tourism and industrial development. The meet attracted industrialists, investors and business leaders.
