Prabhakar Takes Charge as CMD of Visakha Steel Plant

Visakhapatnam: M.N.V.S. Prabhakar on Tuesday assumed charge as the chairman cum managing director (CMD) of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.

A distinguished technocrat and seasoned steel industry leader, Prabhakar has over three decades of rich, diverse experience in the Indian steel sector. Previously, he served as executive director of NMDC Steel Limited (NSL), where he successfully led one of the most notable operational and financial turnaround initiatives in recent years.

Prabhakar began his professional journey with Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) in 1991 as a management trainee (Technical) after completing his Bachelor of Engineering in Metallurgy from VRCE, Nagpur. Later, he acquired an MBA in HR and Marketing. Over the course of his illustrious career, he has risen steadily through key leadership positions in different operational units and functional domains, earning recognition for his deep operational insight, strategic vision, and commitment to excellence.

The appointment of Prabhakar as CMD comes at a crucial juncture for RINL as the company continues its journey towards operational strengthening, financial sustainability, and long-term growth.
