Pinakini Express To Get Modern LHB Coaches
The onboard buffet car will feature flame-free induction cooking along with automatic fire detection and suppression systems for added safety.
Nellore: Train No. 12711/12712 Pinakini Express, the popular intercity service between Vijayawada and Chennai Central, will be upgraded to Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches from June 22, 2025. The switch from conventional ICF coaches promises a safer, faster, and more comfortable journey.
LHB coaches offer enhanced ride quality with improved seating, suspension, and wider windows. Known for high-speed stability, they feature noise reduction, better ventilation, and modern interiors. Their robust safety systems, including anti-climbing technology and crash-resistance, significantly boost passenger protection.

The energy-efficient LHB coaches are capable of speeds up to 160–200 km/h, marking a significant stride in Indian Railways’ infrastructure modernisation.
