Pilgrim Experience Centre, SV Museum To Open Shortly In Tirumala

TIRUPATI: The Pilgrim Experience Centre and the renovated Sri Venkateswara Museum in Tirumala will be made available to devotees shortly, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) additional executive officer Ch. Venkayya Chowdary said on Friday.
Interacting with reporters in Tirumala, Chowdary said the two facilities were among the development projects inaugurated by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on September 16. The TTD was putting systems in place for their management and upkeep, he said.
The Pilgrim Experience Centre, set up in the 17th compartment of Vaikuntam Queue Complex I, would use 3D and virtual reality technology to provide information on Lord Venkateswara, the history of Tirumala, temple traditions, mythology and other spiritual aspects.
The objective was to make the waiting period for darshan more informative, Chowdary said. The TTD was working on a system to regularly update content on the temple’s history, architecture, administration, services, mythology, donors and devotees’ experiences.
The renovated SV Museum has around 14 galleries showcasing Tirumala’s history and heritage, ancient artefacts and digital content, he said. The TTD was preparing a separate manual covering CCTV surveillance, staff deployment, guide services, security measures and numbering of artefacts.
The museum would be operated under a standard operating procedure before being opened to devotees, Chowdary said.
He said the two facilities would give devotees an opportunity to learn more about Tirumala’s history, traditions and heritage along with their darshan of Lord Venkateswara.
