Pemmasani Inaugurates Gen Z-themed Post Office
Designed to resonate with Generation Z, the newly transformed post office features a contemporary, student-friendly ambience.
In a significant step towards engaging younger generations with postal services in the country, union Rural Development minister of state Dr. Pemmasani inaugurated a Gen Z-themed Sub-Post Office at the VIT-AP University campus in Amaravati Chandrasekhar on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, he appreciated the Department of Posts’ for reimagining traditional post offices as dynamic service centres aligned with the aspirations and lifestyles of young citizens.
“Post offices are no longer just about mail delivery; they are evolving into multi-service platforms that connect people, ideas and opportunities, especially for the youth,” Dr. Chandrasekhar stated.
To mark the occasion, he released a special postal cover titled “VIT: Gen Z Themed Post Office of Andhra Pradesh,” symbolising the transformation of postal services in academic environments.
The Union minister said the initiative is part of a larger national programme aimed at transforming campus post offices into vibrant hubs of communication and logistics within educational institutions. He pointed out that the revamped facility marks a milestone for both India Post and VIT-AP University, reflecting a shift towards innovation, inclusivity and customer-centric service delivery.
Designed to resonate with Generation Z, the newly transformed post office features a contemporary, student-friendly ambience. Facilities include an India Post literature wall, coffee zone, foosball table, free Wi-Fi access and a magazine stand, alongside modern digital infrastructure. The post office offers simplified service delivery, digital payment options and seamless access to postal, banking, insurance and e-commerce services under one roof.
