HYDERABAD: A festive mood prevailed in Peerzadiguda on Friday, after HYDRAA cleared illegal structures from a two-acre crematorium in Parvathapur village on Thursday. Locals celebrated the encroachment removal by bursting fireworks and distributing food. Locals also offered milk to portraits of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and HYDRAA commissioner A.V. Ranganath in gratitude.

Residents said that they had fought to save the graveyard from encroachments for four years, and their complaint to HYDRAA brought quick action. They also thanked HYDRAA officials and DRF staffers for protecting the land.
