Vijayawada: Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan has come out strongly against political interference in land disputes and violations of sound pollution norms, while addressing the conference of district collectors and SPs on Thursday.

Pawan Kalyan, who heads the Jana Sena, appeared keen on tightening the governance systems and enforcing the rule of law.

He said complaints had been received about the involvement of political leaders in land disputes, particularly in industrial areas across Visakhapatnam and other North Andhra districts.

Pawan Kalyan said such instances were widespread in the Visakhapatnam zone, where political pressure had created an atmosphere of fear, preventing officials from acting decisively or even speaking openly.

Calling the situation unacceptable, the deputy CM stressed that land disputes must be handled strictly in accordance with law, without yielding to political influence.

Following Pawan’s assertions, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu issued clear instructions to district collectors and SPs that no political interference should be allowed in land matters. Officials must ensure that no complaints of political involvement arose from districts such as Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Anakapalli, he said.

Naidu warned that any complaint received against any individual—irrespective of status or influence—must be pursued without exception.

Pawan Kalyan also took a firm stand on the growing menace of sound pollution. He said it was wrong to use excessive sound systems in the name of religion, festivals, programmes or prayers. Public convenience and legal limits should not be compromised for any reason, he said.

The deputy CM asked officials to ensure that sound levels remained strictly within the prescribed decibel limits and that existing Supreme Court orders on noise pollution are implemented in letter and spirit, rather than having selective enforcement.

In a separate announcement, Pawan Kalyan said Jana Sena Party would hold a comprehensive meeting titled ‘Padavi–Badayata’ (Post–Responsibility) on Dec 22 at Mangalagiri. The meeting would bring together those holding nominated posts on behalf of Jana Sena in the present state government.

The deputy CM said the objective of the meeting is to provide clear guidance, direction and ensure accountability to party nominees, so that positions are treated as responsibilities rather than as privileges.

Ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, chairpersons and directors of state-level corporations, district-level office-bearers, and nominees to agricultural market committees, primary agricultural cooperative societies and water user associations would attend the meet.

An invitation committee has been constituted to coordinate the event, with APMSIDC chairman Chillapalli Srinivasa Rao, Ganji Chiranjeevi, Ammisetty Vasu, Y. Srinivas, Raavi Soujanya, Mallepu Vijayalakshmi and Vikriti Srinivas as members.
