Pawan Kalyan to Gift Saris to 10,000 Women

Vijayawada: Jana Sena chief and deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan would gift saris to 10,000 women, marking mark Sravana Sukravaram, the ‘auspicious’ Friday, in his assembly constituency of Pitapuram in Kakinada district on August 22.

Official-level arrangements are being made for the mass Varalakshmi Vratarm event in the Sri Padagaya Kshetram of Uma Kukkuteswara Swamy and the Puzhuthivakkam Ammavarti temple. The Vratam ritual would begin at 5am on Friday and continue in five phases.

For each phase, the Dy CM named them after a, deity like Ambica, Brahmaramba, Chamundi, Durga and Eeswari. Accordingly, the first phase of the Vratam would start from 5 am to 6.30 am, to be followed by the other phases from 8 am to 9.30 am, from 9.30 am to 11 am and from 11 am to 12.30 pm.

After 1 pm, all the listed 10,000 women would be presented with turmeric, vermilion and saris as a gift from Pawan Kalyan.

The authorities would start issuing coupons from Thursday. The timing would be mentioned on the coupon. Women have been advised to conduct their Varalakshmi Vratam as per the specified time. In the event of good climate, 1,000 to 1,500 women can perform the Vratam at a time as per the arrangements that are being made.

The temple staff, the police and Jana Sena volunteers would distribute the saris to the women.
