Pawan Kalyan Sanctions Fund for Long-Pending Road Works
Pawan Kalyan also responded positively to another long-pending request from farmers of Yerrampeta village
VIJAYAWADA: In a relief to villagers grappling with poor road connectivity, Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan has sanctioned road work worth `7.6 crore during a visit of IS Jagannathapuram and other places on Tuesday.
While touring Polavaram constituency in Koyyalagudem mandal, the deputy CM heard complaints from residents of Thimmanakunta and Gavaravaram about the hardships they faced due to the badly damaged roads that linked their villages.
The situation remained worse for over 20 years, they said.
An emotional moment came when a woman carrying her child approached Pawan Kalyan, navigating through the crowd, and tearfully explained the daily misery the villagers experienced due to the road's bad condition. Kalyan promised her immediate action.
The deputy CM directed the Panchayat Raj engineering department to urgently take up construction of the Thimmanakunta Yerravaram road under the Palle Panduga 2.0 programme, using SASCI funds. For the 9-km stretch, the government approved `7 crore, paving the way for a long-overdue relief for the villagers.
Pawan Kalyan also responded positively to another long-pending request from farmers of Yerrampeta village. To ease the movement of agricultural produce and strengthen rural market linkage, he sanctioned `60 lakh from the MGNREGS for the construction of a 3-km rural “donka” road that cuts through agricultural fields.
Recognising the crucial role such feeder roads play in transportation and agrarian life, he emphasized that Donka road development would be given priority in rural infrastructure planning.
