Pawan Kalyan Charts New Course for Jana Sena at Executive Council Meeting
Separate resolutions were introduced by MLA Bolisetty Srinivas and MP Vallabhaneni Balashouri, all of which received formal approval at the meeting
Visakhapatnam: Jana Sena chief and Deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan held a meeting with party MLAs and activists on the first day of the programme 'Senatho Senani' here on Thursday, outlining a roadmap for the party's future. During the JS legislative party meeting, Pawan Kalyan announced three major resolutions as the party's immediate priorities.
MLA Lokam Madhavi introduced the key resolution on combating social media fragmentation trends, focusing specifically on organised criminals “who systematically degrade women online” and the need for strong legal frameworks to prevent “extreme trends” on social media.
State civil supplies minister and party PAC chairman Nadendla Manohar presented a resolution emphasizing that MLAs, MPs and MLCs should raise their voices on public issues and constituency matters in legislative assemblies, with particular focus on youth and women's problems.
Additionally, separate resolutions were introduced by MLA Bolisetty Srinivas and MP Vallabhaneni Balashouri, all of which received formal approval at the meeting.
Beyond expressing a general concern about online harassment, Pawan Kalyan announced plans for a special roundtable meeting with experts to formulate specific legislation or ordinances addressing social media extremism, particularly targeting organised criminals “who systematically degrade women online and spread misinformation against the government.”
The party also took credit for preventing the privatization of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. PK said his discussions with home minister Amit Shah yielded positive results.
He attributed the Central government's allocation of ` 14,000 crore to the steel plant to the combined efforts of chief minister Chandrababu Naidu and himself as deputy CM.
The Jana Sena chief also conducted individual performance reviews with each MLA, spending 5-10 minutes with each representative. Based on constituency development reports and public feedback surveys, the party leadership is considering ranking MLAs according to their performance.
The meeting established new working protocols, including a directive that all public representatives should dedicate one day per week to party activities. Additionally, PK announced plans for increased grassroots engagement, with provisions for party workers to host him during future constituency visits.
Recognizing the importance of digital communication, he asked party leaders to maintain an active social media presence and counter opposition propaganda. He emphasized that MLAs should take their development initiatives directly to the public and maintain consistent participation in both legislative and public affairs.
The 'Senatho Senani' programme would continue with Pawan Kalyan meeting MPs, in-charges of 25 parliamentary constituencies, and key party leaders.
Yelamanchili MLA Sundarapu Vijay Kumar, speaking to the media after the meeting, reiterated the party's commitment to Pawan Kalyan's principles and dismissed any speculation about internal divisions or alliance instability.
He said Pawan Kalyan dismissed rumours of an alliance breakdown. "The alliance is formed only for the future of the country and the state," he said, and emphasized that despite suggestions from various quarters to merge parties, Jana Sena would maintain its distinct identity while working collaboratively for regional development.
