Pawan Distributes Footwear to Adivasis of ASR District
Deputy CM’s gesture to address footwear needs of tribal families highlights commitment to their welfare
Visakhapatnam: In a kind gesture, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan organised the distribution of footwear to 375 Adivasis from 87 families at Pedapadu village in Dumbriguda mandal of ASR district.
During his visit to Pedapadu, a Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) village, on April 7, he interacted with villagers in a face-to-face programme and was shocked to find many of them barefoot.
Warmly received at the event, Pawan Kalyan had a direct interaction with an elderly tribal woman named Pongi Mithu, who was also barefoot. Moved by their plight, he assured the villagers that their needs would be addressed and noted that they had walked long distances without footwear just to meet him.
After returning to his office, he directed his team to conduct a survey to determine how many villagers from children to the elderly, required footwear. Following the survey, his office organised a distribution drive on Thursday.
The Adivasis expressed their gratitude to Pawan Kalyan for his generosity.
