VIJAYAWADA: Telugu Desam state president and MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao on Tuesday called upon party leaders and cadres to conduct the Prajala Sevalo Prabhutvam (Government in People’s Service) programme as a people’s festival on December 31 and January 1, taking the coalition government’s achievements directly to citizens.

Addressing party functionaries at the TD Central Office in Mangalagiri, he urged every leader and activist to visit households and explain the government’s initiatives, development milestones and welfare implementation. “This outreach must be conducted like a celebration, reflecting the confidence and clarity of governance,” he said.

Srinivasa Rao said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu believes that governance must be demonstrated through action rather than rhetoric. Since assuming office, the coalition government has fulfilled its promises and delivered transparent and accountable administration, he asserted.

Drawing a contrast with the previous regime, he alleged that the last five years under Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy pushed the State into disorder through mounting debt, policy paralysis and stalled development. He accused the former government of delaying key projects such as the Polavaram Project and weakening the capital Amaravati, setting the State back significantly.

“With Naidu at the helm, Andhra Pradesh has moved decisively from destruction to development,” Palla said, crediting the Chief Minister’s experience with restoring investor confidence. He claimed that investment commitments worth ₹25 lakh crore have been attracted, laying the foundation for 26 lakh jobs.

On welfare, he said the ‘Super Six’ schemes have strengthened support for poor and middle-class families, with nearly ₹70,000 crore spent so far. In the last 18 months alone, ₹51,000 crore has been disbursed as pensions. The ‘Stree Shakti’ free bus travel scheme for women, launched on August 15, has received strong public response, with ₹1,200 crore allocated to date.

He also cited ₹135 crore for imam honorariums, ₹81 crore for pastors’ honorariums and financial assistance for Haj pilgrims. Over seven crore meals have been served through 205 Anna Canteens. Despite challenges, the government filled 15,941 teacher posts through the Mega DSC and completed 5,757 constable recruitments, he added.
