ONGC Gas Leak in Machavaram Under Control, Says Collector

Kakinada: A gas leak from an Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) pipeline in paddy fields at Machavaram village in Ambajipeta mandal of Dr B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district caused concern among villagers after the smell of gas spread to surrounding areas.

ONGC officials were working to contain the leak and remained on alert as the gas odour reached nearby areas. The district administration was closely monitoring the situation and taking precautionary measures to ensure public safety.

District Collector Mahesh Kumar said the gas leak was under control and appealed to people not to panic. He added that fire engines and emergency personnel had been kept on standby to deal with any eventuality.
