Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has said the Andhra Pradesh government is promoting a ‘One Family-One Entrepreneur’ norm to ensure everyone becomes partners in the state’s development.

“We want to avert a scenario of a small section of the people enjoying the fruits of development,” Naidu said while participating in a discussion on the ‘One Family-One Entrepreneur’ concept at the World Economic Forum in Davos on Tuesday.

Naidu said India was improving the productive sectors by utilising new technology so that everyone could get an opportunity to become an entrepreneur. He explained how the AP government was providing guidance through Ratan Tata Innovation Hub for startups.

He said, “We also introduced the P-4 (public-private-people-participation) system to reduce poverty by handholding the poor to reach their goals. We are also encouraging the MSMEs and women industrialists in the state.”

The Chief Minister, accompanied on his visit by education minister Nara Lokesh, requested the IBM company to train 10 lakh people in AI and Quantum Technologies.

In a meeting held with IBM chairman Arvind Krishna, Naidu discussed at length on training for the youth in AI, Quantum Technologies and Cyber Security. As IBM had decided to train 50 lakh youth in the country in these fields, he proposed that it provide training to 10 lakh youths from AP.

Naidu discussed the setting up of a Quantum Computing Centre in partnership with IBM in Amaravati and urged the company to set up a Quantum Innovation Centre in AP. The IBM chairman responded positively.

Later, the CM met Google Cloud chief executive officer Thomas Kurein on the proposed setting up of the Google AI Data Centre in Visakhapatnam.

He also met World Intellectual Property Organisation director General Daren Tong and director Anil Murthy and discussed innovations, startup eco-system and strengthening patents. The AP government, he said, had been making efforts to get branding for the state’s products. If anyone came and invested in the state, the government would provide all requisite permissions across the table and take the responsibility for grounding of the units.

Meanwhile, several entrepreneurs praised the CM for introducing the One Family-One Entrepreneur concept and hoped that it would pave the way for development of all sections of the people including those living in rural areas.
