NTR Varsity Raises Research Stipend To ₹30,000

The committee approved online applications for the scholarships, which will be awarded after evaluation of research reports submitted by students in 2026.

Vijayawada: Dr NTR University of Health Sciences has increased the number of Undergraduate Student Research Scholarships (UGSRS) from 500 to 1,000 and enhanced the scholarship amount from ₹10,000 to ₹30,000.

The decision was taken at the university's PhD Committee meeting attended by vice-chancellor P. Chandrasekhar, registrar T. Sai Sudheer, director of research and development M. Lakshmi Surya Prabha, and Director of Publications K. Sudha.

The committee approved online applications for the scholarships, which will be awarded after evaluation of research reports submitted by students in 2026. The scholarships will cover 600 MBBS, 200 BDS, 80 AYUSH, 50 Nursing, 50 Physiotherapy and 20 Allied Health Care students.

The duration of research has also been extended from two months to six months.

The committee further increased the number of faculty research grants from 25 to 200 across medical, dental, AYUSH, nursing and physiotherapy disciplines. Each grant will provide up to ₹5 lakh for research-related expenses, including consumables, travel and other project requirements.
