NRIs, Industrialists Eyeing Opportunities on Prathipadu Constituency
According to the MLA, around 6,445 acres of unused government land is available in the constituency, which could be allotted to industries, thereby attracting crores of investments into the constituency, leading to employment generation.
Kakinada: Several industrialists, in particular non-resident Indians (NRIs) among them, are eyeing Prathipadu constituency in Kakinada district to start their ventures. Of particular interest to them are areas adjoining the Kakinada Special Economic Zone (KSEZ), which offers several incentives.
Some of these industrialists have approached Prathipadu constituency MLA Varupula Satya Prabha, seeking her intervention with Industries minister T.G. Bharat in this regard.
According to the MLA, around 6,445 acres of unused government land is available in the constituency, which could be allotted to industries, thereby attracting crores of investments into the constituency, leading to employment generation.
Satya Prabha has gone on to meet Kakinada district collector S. Shan Mohan about handing over the vacant government to Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC), so that these could be allocated to industrial units, particularly in the Kirlampudi, Prathipadu and Sankhavaram mandals, which are close to the Kakinada Port, Rajamahendravaram Airport, and NH-216, offering excellent connectivity to both northern and southern markets.
Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu (APNRT) Society director Kanuri Seshu Babu said many industrialists are coming forward to invest in Prathipadu constituency owing to the advantages of ports and KSEZ.
Seshu Babu said Reliance Industries is investing Rs 65,000 crore to build 500 compressed biogas (CBG) plants in Andhra Pradesh, many of which can come up in the Kakinada region.
Social activist D.N. Ramesh said many industrialists are coming forward for setting up, among other ventures, a dry port, logistics’ park, food processing park, solar park, compressed biogas units, and MSME industrial park, among others. He pointed out that Prathipadu constituency is very suitable for these units due to its proximity to the East Coast Railway line from Kolkata to Chennai.
In this context, Kapu Nadu leader J. Nagababu has requested Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan to take initiative and allocate lands for industrial purposes for ensuring economic growth and employment in the region.
