Nellore: The Nellore Zilla Parishad on Saturday unanimously passed a resolution demanding that Kaluvoyi, Rapur and Saidapuram mandals should continue in Nellore district and not be merged with Tirupati district.

At the general body meeting held here, members said people would face administrative and practical difficulties if the mandals were shifted to Tirupati district. The Zilla Parishad resolved to send a detailed report to the state government conveying its stand.

The meeting, chaired by Zilla Parishad chairperson Anam Arunamma, also approved the Budget Estimates for 2026–27 and the Revised Estimates for 2025–26. For 2026–27, income of Rs 61.07 crore and expenditure of Rs 61.06 crore were approved.

Members discussed issues related to agriculture, roads, irrigation and welfare hostels. Officials assured the house that urea stocks were adequate for farmers. The chairperson directed officials to address public grievances without delay.

MLAs from Kavali and Sullurpeta, D.V. Krishna Reddy and Nelavala Vijayasri, ZPTCs, MPPs and officials were present.
