Nellore Rolls Out Hi-Tech Mist Machine To Cool City, Clean Roads And Protect Greenery
Minister for municipal administration and urban development Ponguru Narayana inspected the machine on Monday at Mallela Sanjeevaiah Grounds in AC Nagar under the city’s 14th division and expressed satisfaction over its performance.
Nellore: The Nellore Municipal Corporation (NMC) has introduced a multi-purpose “Mist Machine” aimed at watering plants, cleaning roads, reducing heat intensity and assisting during in the city.
Minister for municipal administration and urban development Ponguru Narayana inspected the machine on Monday at Mallela Sanjeevaiah Grounds in AC Nagar under the city’s 14th division and expressed satisfaction over its performance.
Speaking on the occasion, Narayana said the machine sprays ultra-fine water droplets at high speed over plants grown along road dividers, helping remove dust and grime that affect their growth. He said the technology would help maintain greenery across the city throughout the year.
The machine will also be used for road cleaning and for reducing heat during summer by cooling the surrounding air. It is additionally equipped with an emergency firefighting mechanism capable of spraying water instantly to help control accidental fires.
The minister said the corporation planned to expand the use of such technology across Nellore as part of efforts to develop a cleaner and greener urban environment.
Mayor Sujatha Ashok, deputy mayor Roop Kumar Yadav, NMC additional commissioner Katta Himabindu, former municipal chairperson Tallapaka Anuradha, former ZPTC Vijeta Reddy, corporator Kartham Pratap Reddy, State Brahmin Corporation director Ucchi Bhuvaneswari Prasad, engineering officials and TD leaders participated in the programme.
