NCB Seizes 30 Kg Hashish Oil, Arrests Three
The NCB seized over 30 kg of hashish oil worth more than ₹3 crore and arrested three persons in ASR district while busting an inter-state drug trafficking network.
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Visakhapatnam Zonal Unit, has busted an inter-state hashish oil trafficking network, seizing more than 30 kg of hashish oil valued at over ₹3 crore and arresting three persons in Alluri Sitharama Raju (ASR) district.
The arrests were made during an operation at Dumbriguda.
The accused were identified as Manoj Mathew (47), a native of Idukki district in Kerala; Salue Marri (26), from Ralagadda village in Malkangiri district of Odisha; and M. Vishnuvardhan (22), a student from Dumbriguda in ASR district.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the gang procured hashish oil from remote areas of Odisha. Police said Salue Marri acted as the intermediary between Manoj Mathew and the supplier, while Vishnuvardhan transported the contraband.
Acting on specific intelligence, NCB officials conducted the operation, seized the contraband and arrested the trio.
Further investigation is under way to identify other members of the trafficking network.
