Narasapuram Gets Vande Bharat Link to Chennai
With the extension, the train will now travel beyond Vijayawada, passing through Gudivada and Bhimavaram before reaching Narasapuram.
Hyderabad: The Narasapuram–Chennai Vande Bharat Express has been officially launched, establishing a new high-speed rail connection for the region. Union minister Srinivasa Varma inaugurated the service by flagging off the train at Narasapuram railway station. Deputy Speaker Raghurama Krishna Raju, Bommidi Nayakkar, Bolisetty, and other officials were present at the event.
This new service is an extension of the existing Vande Bharat train that runs between Chennai Central and Vijayawada, a route recently approved by the Railway Board to be extended to Narasapuram. Currently, the train departs Chennai Central at 5.30 am and arrives in Vijayawada at 11.40 am, stopping at Renigunta, Gudur, Nellore, Ongole, and Tenali. With the extension, the train will now travel beyond Vijayawada, passing through Gudivada and Bhimavaram before reaching Narasapuram.
