Amaravati:  Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday urged Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal to negotiate with China and four other countries over the fate of 150 chilli export containers from the state stranded at Colombo Port.

In a letter to Goyal, the chief minister noted that the export consignments valued at Rs 60 crore in those containers were stalled for bearing "excess moisture" content. The CM wrote a letter to Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal to negotiate with those respective countries (China and others) on the export of chilli containers stranded in Colombo Port. Besides China, the other countries are Bangladesh, Indonesia, Thailand, and Singapore," officials said.

Observing that the stalling of these containers will bring losses to farmers, the CM wrote to the Commerce Ministry to ensure that these consignments are exported.
