Naidu To Start Rs 260 Crore Expansion Works Of TTD's Venkatapalem Temple In Amaravati

Naidu is keen on developing the temple into a major spiritual centre. With the temple structure now completed, the second and third phases will begin after the foundation ceremony.

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will lay the foundation stone at 10.30 a.m. on Thursday for the Rs 260 crore expansion of the TTD Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple at Venkatapalem in Amaravati.

In the first phase, the government will spend Rs 140 crore on constructing a compound wall, a seven-storeyed Maha Gopuram, Arjita Seva Mandapam, Radha Mandapam, Anjaneya Swamy temple and Pushkarini works.

The second phase will cover the Sri Vari temple, Mada Street, approach roads, Annadanam complex, Yatri Nivas, quarters for archakas and staff, administrative buildings, Dhyana Mandir and parking facilities.

The state had allotted 25.417 acres for the temple before 2019. However, the previous government reduced the allotted land and cancelled the expansion plan. The NDA government has now revived and advanced the project.
