Naidu To Launch Next Phase of Sanjeevani Healthcare Project
The government is also establishing a dedicated Health Secretariat under the proposed Universal Health Policy through the NTR Vaidya Seva Trust to monitor implementation of the programme.
Tirupati: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will launch the next phase of the Sanjeevani Healthcare Project at Yadamarri near Chittoor on Saturday, marking the beginning of the programme’s statewide expansion.
The project, which was earlier piloted in Kuppam and Naravaripalle, focuses on creating digital health records and strengthening preventive healthcare services through technology-based monitoring systems.
Chittoor MP Daggumalla Prasad Rao said the project was being operated through a Digital Nerve Centre connecting Primary Health Centres and major hospitals. Under the system, doctors would be able to access patients’ medical history, prescriptions, diagnostic reports and laboratory records from anywhere in the state, helping reduce repeated tests and improve emergency medical response.
“As part of the next phase, the state government has approved ₹162 crore for deployment of 904 Mobile Medical Units to strengthen healthcare access in rural and remote areas. The government has also fixed a target to conduct medical screening for 56.40 lakh people over the next year,” he said.
The MP said the government was giving priority to faster healthcare delivery through digital systems. He said the Chief Minister had directed departments to ensure that medical test reports were sent to beneficiaries through WhatsApp within 48 hours of testing.
The project is being developed with support from organisations including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, focusing on preventive healthcare and digital data management. More than 3.14 lakh people have already been registered in the digital health database.
The government is also establishing a dedicated Health Secretariat under the proposed Universal Health Policy through the NTR Vaidya Seva Trust to monitor implementation of the programme.
Ahead of the launch, Chittoor collector Sumit Kumar conducted workshops for medical, nursing and paramedical staff on digital data entry for outpatient services. Officials said all outpatient records would be entered digitally from Saturday onwards.
Puthalapattu MLA Dr K. Murali Mohan and Chittoor SP Tushar Dudi visited the venue at Yadamarri on Friday and reviewed arrangements for the Chief Minister’s visit.
