Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday said the World Economic Forum meet in Davos has emerged as a crucial global platform to understand emerging industrial trends and to exchange ideas with industrialists from across the world.

Concluding his successful four-day Davos visit, the Chief Minister said the engagements were instrumental in gauging market responses to AP’s new policies and in positioning the state as a strong global investment brand.

Naidu boarded a flight to India on Thursday evening to arrive in Hyderabad at 8.25 am Friday. From there, he would proceed to Amaravati to resume official duties at the Secretariat from 11.30 am.

The CM participated in more than 36 programmes, including over nine high-level sessions and meetings held on the sidelines of the WEF. He also took part in three meetings with representatives from Israel, the UAE and Switzerland.

A major highlight of the tour was Naidu’s interaction with 16 global industrial leaders. These included Lakshmi Mittal, chairman of ArcelorMittal; Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud; and Arvind Krishna, CEO of IBM.

The discussions focused on potential investments, technology collaboration and long-term partnerships in Andhra Pradesh.

Reflecting on the outcomes, the CM said that interactions at Davos provided valuable insights into global industrial shifts and the evolving outlook of multinational corporations. The platform also helped AP benchmark its investor-friendly policies and refine its long-term economic strategy.

Significantly, Naidu revealed that discussions held during the 2025 Davos visit have already translated into investments worth `2.50 lakh crore in Andhra Pradesh. During this year’s meetings, the state effectively showcased its progress and potential in sectors such as green energy, technology, artificial intelligence, agriculture and tourism.

Observing a broader global trend, the CM said that international companies were showing far greater interest in India this time. He attributed this to India’s youthful workforce, stable leadership and forward-looking policies, which are creating new opportunities across various sectors.

Beyond official engagements, Naidu interacted with the Telugu diaspora in Europe, participating in a special diaspora programme and boosting their confidence in Andhra Pradesh’s growth story. He also gave interviews to national and international media from Davos, highlighting the state’s development vision and investment potential.

With the Davos chapter concluded, the chief minister is set to return to governance mode in Amaravati, carrying forward the momentum generated on the global economic stage.
