CM N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday appreciated Gayatri, a woman employee at the Dwaraka Tirumala temple, for feeding a differently abled devotee who had no hands.

The incident took place on October 3 at the temple’s Annaprasadam centre, where Gayatri personally fed Satyanarayana, a devotee who had both hands missing. A video of the incident went viral on social media and drew the Chief Minister’s attention.

Naidu shared the video on X and praised Gayatri for her gesture. “Shabash Gayatri,” he said, saluting her kindness in feeding the devotee and helping satisfy his hunger. He said her gesture reflected the spirit of “Manava Seve Madhava Seva” (service to humanity is service to God).

Meanwhile, the Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy temple authorities invited Mr Naidu to attend the Devi Sharannavaratri Mahotsavams to be held at Srisailam from October 11 to 20.

Temple Board chairman Pothugunta Ramesh Naidu, executive officer M. Srinivasa Rao and Srisailam MLA Budda Rajasekhar Reddy met the Chief Minister at his camp office and handed over the invitation. Temple priests performed Vedic blessings for Mr Naidu, while officials presented him with a portrait of Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy and prasadam.

Naidu enquired about the arrangements being made by the temple authorities for the festivities.

The temple authorities also invited education and IT minister N. Lokesh to attend the celebrations. The Board chairman, executive officer and Srisailam MLA met Lokesh at his Undavalli residence and handed over the invitation.

Temple priests blessed Lokesh with Vedic chants, while officials presented him with the deity’s portrait and prasadam.
