Naidu Orders Stringent Action, Offers ₹20 lakh Aid For Priyanka’s Family

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday ordered stringent action against those responsible for the death of medico Priyanka, who succumbed to injuries sustained after being hit by a car driven two youths, allegedly drunk, in Rajahmundry on August 3.

Naidu directed officials to provide Rs 20 lakh financial assistance to Priyanka’s bereaved family and assured them of all possible government support.

Expressing deep anguish over her death, the Chief Minister said it was distressing that a young medical student with a promising future had lost her life in the incident.

Officials also briefed Naidu on Priyanka’s treatment. She was initially treated in Rajahmundry before her family shifted her to Hyderabad for further treatment. Despite medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries.
